WhatsApp says that they provide support for and recommend using the following devices:
Android running OS 4.1 and neweriPhone running iOS 10 and newerSelect phones running KaiOS 2.5.1 newer, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2
This means that if you are still using any devices running versions of their operating systems below what is specified above, you will no longer be able to use WhatsApp on them from November 1, 2021.
Is your Android smartphone affected?
To find out if your Android smartphone is affected, go to the Settings menu, and tap on About phone, and look for Android version. If it is below Android 4.1, your phone is at risk.
